Anthropic made three new controls generally available for Claude Enterprise on October 28, 2026: smart reports, in-app employee surveys and pooled group budgets. Smart reports analyze how a team uses Claude and report on the work getting done, according to the Claude Help Center, which says the feature is meant to help companies understand adoption and plan their investment in Claude. How a report is built

An admin chooses a team, a date range covering up to the last 28 days and the products to include: chat, Claude Code, Claude Cowork, or chat and Cowork combined. Claude then samples transcripts from that period, groups the sessions into workstreams and output types, and attaches spend at list price to each group. Unite.AI reported that a report usually takes a few hours and can be downloaded as an HTML file with drilldowns. (Claude Help Center (opens in a new tab); Unite.AI (opens in a new tab))

The finished report ranks top uses by sessions and by spend, lists deliverables such as analysis, documentation, content drafts and code with the average cost per session, and shows where the most expensive sessions cluster. It also names common pain points, such as connectors that were never set up, output that missed the request and loops of rework, and it recommends workflows a team could turn into shared skills or rules it could add to a code repository. Off-topic sessions and privacy limits

One section of the report, labeled Inefficiencies, counts sessions that produced nothing usable as well as sessions that were personal or off-topic. According to the Help Center, those sessions appear only as an aggregate count and cost, with no summaries and no drilldown, and personal conversations do not include individual sessions or names. (Claude Help Center (opens in a new tab))

Anthropic also limits what admins can ask. Custom questions cannot cover restricted topics, which include protected characteristics, health and medical matters, union activity, harassment, whistleblower or legal complaints, political or religious views, personal life and sentiment about people. Sessions that touch those topics feed only the aggregate analysis. A separate setting that allows attribution to individual users is off by default. When it is off, every drilldown shows the word User in place of a name; when it is on, names are still hidden until a viewer reveals them, and each reveal is logged. The Help Center states that smart reports should not be used for evaluating individual performance or making employment decisions. The feature is off by default and must be turned on in organization settings, and each organization can run up to 10 reports per month at no charge. Unite.AI reported that the reports are not available to organizations that use customer managed encryption keys, a HIPAA configuration or a hybrid deployment. Surveys and shared budgets

The same release added in-app surveys that ask employees about their most valuable recent work with Claude, whether it changed how long tasks took and which uses colleagues should copy, with results exportable to a spreadsheet. Pooled group budgets add a shared monthly amount on top of each member's own limit, with every request counted against both and email alerts to billing admins at 50, 75, 95 and 100 percent of a budget. In NeuraFeed's reading, the design shows Anthropic trying to give companies a clear picture of what they pay for without turning Claude into a tool for watching individual workers. The aggregate off-topic count, hidden names and logged reveals set default limits, but the attribution switch means each company still decides how much its managers can see.
